The Case For Christianity

We demonstrate in this argument that there is sufficient evidence to claim that Christianity is true.  This begins with the historical evidence for Jesus, and it then demonstrates His divinity.  And then on the basis of His being God the case for the Bible.                                                                                                _

  1. On the basis of accepted principles of textual and historical analysis, the Gospel accounts are found to be trustworthy historical documents.

  2. In these records we find that Jesus exercises divine prerogatives and claims to be God in human flesh.

  3. In all four Gospel accounts, Christ’s death and bodily resurrection are described in detail.

  4. The Explanation that best fits accepted facts regarding these resurrection accounts is that Jesus really did physically rise from the dead.

  5. The resurrection confirms the claims of Jesus, including His claim to be God

  6. If Jesus is God, whatever He says is true.

  7. Jesus put His divine stamp of approval on the Old Testament, and the soon to be written apostolic New Testament.

  8. The Old Testament and New Testament together contain religious, philosophical, and ethical absolutes. These thus take on the character of divine or higher law and remain valid even if vast numbers of human beings or entire societies choose to ignore them.
